Our Mission Statement:

To protect life, property, and our natural resources through hazard identification, prevention, and mitigation.

The Fire Rescue Department consists of Station One at Perry Foley Airport which is staffed by 6 career firefighters.

The firefighters work in three shifts of two firefighters each.

They are on duty 24 hours and off duty 48 hours in a three day rotation, so there are always two firefighters on duty at any time.

Additionally, there are six volunteer fire companies.

They are located in Shady Grove, North District (Johnson-Stripling Rd.), West District (Woods Creek), Taylor Beaches, Steinhatchee, Athena, Econfina, and Nutall Rise.

Each has volunteers, a firehouse, trucks, and equipment for quick response to emergencies in their communities.
