  1. Guardrails not required for walking surfaces 30” or less above grade.
  2. Bottom rail not required within dwellings.
  3. Bottom rail not required on stairways.
  4. Guardrails designed to resist a 200 lb concentrated load in any direction, at the top of the guardrail.
