What is a 100-flood zone?  A 100-year flood is a storm event having 1% probability of being equaled or exceeded in any given year.
Can a flood zone determinate be appealed?  Yes, if you have scientific evidence that the determination is technically incorrect.  For more information contact your Building Department.

How do I get my street address changed?  Contact the Building Department (850) 838-3500, give them a physical description of how to get to the property, property owner, or parcel number and the staff will locate the address for you.

Where are you located? The Building Department is located on the corner of Washington Street & West Green Street in downtown Perry.

What are your hours of operation?  The department's open from 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday. 

Should I contact the building & planning department before I purchase property? Yes, the Building & Planning Department can provide you with the allowable residential density, flood zone determination, building restrictions, and commercial restrictions on the property.

Can I draw my own house plans? Yes, you may draw residential plans for your own home, if it is not located on the coast, or elevated more than 48 inches above grade.

When do I need a permit? When a permit is required for each type of construction, can be found in the permitting section.
