MOBILE HOME PARKS: Mobile homes sited in listed mobile home parks do not require a septic tank permit. STEP 1: Contact the Taylor County Health Department (850)-584-5087 to make an appointment with the permitting representative. STEP 2: On the way to the Health Department come by the Building Department and request a compliance statement and property printout. If the septic tank permit will be used for a single-family residence, addition, or commercial building, you should drop off your construction plans at the Building Department for the plan review. STEP 3: Go to the Property Appraisers office, located on the 2nd floor of the Courthouse, and purchase an aerial map of the property. This will be used to provide a site diagram for the Health Department. The information on the compliance statement will show the Property Appraiser which map you need. STEP 4: After the Health Department completes the site test, or existing tank inspection they will issue you an application number and give you a copy for the Building Department. You can then obtain the Building Permit.
